Terms of Service
Last updated: July 26, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Unza mobile app and website. By downloading, installing, or using Unza, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Unza.
What Unza is
Unza is an alarm app for iPhone that requires you to complete a mission before the alarm stops. Missions may include fitness activities (such as pushups, squats, or wall sits), quiz questions (such as math, science, or history), or a faith activity (reading and scanning an assigned Bible chapter, or answering a Bible quiz). Unza is intended to help you start your morning with intention. It is not a medical device, fitness coach, or religious authority.
No account required
You can use Unza without creating an account. Your alarms and settings are stored on your device. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Unza. If you are under 18, you should use Unza only with permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for ensuring Unza is appropriate for your age, health, and circumstances.
License to use the app
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Unza on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple’s App Store rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or misuse Unza.
Health and fitness disclaimer
Fitness missions involve physical activity. Unza does not provide medical advice. Consult a physician before starting a new exercise routine, especially if you have health conditions, injuries, or concerns. Use Unza in a safe space with enough room to move. Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort. You assume all risks related to exercise missions.
Faith mode disclaimer
Faith mode provides a structured Bible reading plan and uses on-device scanning to verify chapter headings. Unza does not endorse a particular denomination and does not provide theological, pastoral, or spiritual counseling. Bible text and reading plans are for personal devotional use.
Fitness Pro subscriptions
Some fitness features require a paid “Fitness Pro” subscription after any free trial ends. Faith mode remains free. Payments are processed by Apple, not by us directly. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
Refunds are handled according to Apple’s policies. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to subscription features if Apple’s services are unavailable.
If you are in the European Union, EEA, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, you may have additional rights regarding digital purchases, cancellation, and refunds that cannot be excluded by these Terms. Subscription billing and refund requests are generally processed through Apple. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Unza in a way that violates law or third-party rights
- Attempt to bypass alarm missions in unsafe or deceptive ways
- Interfere with the app’s operation or security
- Use Unza while driving or in situations where distraction could cause harm
- Reverse engineer or redistribute the app except as allowed by law
Camera and alarm behavior
Unza may continue ringing until your mission is complete. Camera-based verification is designed to run on your device. Results may vary based on lighting, camera placement, and user movement. You are responsible for configuring alarms responsibly and using the app in a safe environment.
Intellectual property
Unza, its branding, design, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of Unza or its content.
Disclaimer of warranties
Unza is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Unza will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that missions will always verify correctly.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Unza. Our total liability for any claim related to Unza will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of Unza, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
Changes to Unza and these Terms
We may update Unza or these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
Termination
You may stop using Unza at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or discontinue Unza if required by law, platform policy, or operational needs.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
Accessibility
Unza is designed as a mission-based alarm app. Fitness missions require camera access and physical activity. Faith missions require reading and scanning a Bible chapter with the camera. We support VoiceOver and Dynamic Type where possible in app navigation and settings, but camera-based missions have inherent limitations for some users.
If you have accessibility needs or feedback, contact support@unza.app.
